Ethel Roxas, MPH

Ethel Roxas, MPH, a sociomedical scientist, is the Sr. Public Engagement & Collaboration Research Manager for the Research Theme in Health Equity & Translational Social Science (HETSS.) She previously worked for New-York Presbyterian (NYP) Hospital as the Outreach Coordinator for the Patient Experience: Access Department in partnership with the Radiology Department at the NYP/ Columbia campus. She then transitioned to the expanded role as the Business Development & Outreach Coordinator for the Women & Children’s Service Line at the NYP/Columbia and NYP/ Weill Cornell campuses. Ethel received her Master of Public Health with a certificate in Sexuality and Sexual Reproductive Health from Columbia Mailman School of Public Health. She graduated from Cornell University in 2016 with her B.S. in Human Biology, Health, & Society and a double minor in Global Health & Southeast Asian Studies. Ethel’s research background focuses on equitable access to sexual and reproductive health services for adolescents in the Philippines. She identifies as a Filipinx, Asian American who is deeply committed to health justice and equity research. She is honored and humbled to work alongside her role models and the trailblazing Co-Chairs, Dr. Rochelle Dicker and Dr. Helena Hansen, towards equitable health care for all.
