Rachel Parks
Rachel Parks earned her bachelors degree in Anthropology from Princeton University in 2015. She is currently an MD/PhD candidate in the MSTP Program in the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine (entering class of fall 2016). She is originally from Hamilton, New York. Rachel has conducted ethnographic research in the Bolivian immigrant community of São Paulo, Brazil, exploring health and healthcare, the articulation of racial and ethnic identity, and cultural performance. She is interested in studying the relationships between local policymakers, providers, and patients within systems of care that are designed to serve vulnerable populations, particularly the undocumented-uninsured in Southern California.
